What: Regional family event centered around a 5k run/walk (walkers are welcome!)
When: Saturday, April 11, 2009; registration starts onsite at 7:30am, run starts at 9am
Where: Beautiful Cherokee Boulevard in Knoxville, TN. See the maps page for more information on the exact location, or for driving directions.


Why: To celebrate the wonderful outdoor environment that we have in East Tennessee and raise awareness for work that is on-going to keep our air clean and clear! This begins with what community citizens can do to help, and that is what you will find here. Check our AQinfo page to learn about our local air quality issues.

Who: Anyone is invited to attend! You can even put together your own team to participate! See the Teams page for more info on teams.

What Else is going on that day?
  • Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) showcase of 15-20 vehicles of six different fuel types
  • "Clean Air QnA" session with prizes
  • Displays from multiple regional groups that work in the air quality field, collectively providing solid information on our air quality issues

  • A hybrid vehicle "Ride-n-Drive" immediately follows the Run, and features many of the current hybrids on the market today, all for you to test drive in one place!
